WHAT IS JAMMING?

Jamming is essentially a gathering of musicians who band together and perform songs off the cuff so to speak. As time passes, some form regular line ups and rehearse their music and put on a great show, thus allowing more variety and entertainment. Many bands have formed from jamming, for example: The Rock, Inertia. The Weapons Of Mass Disfunction, Wayne’s World, Mace’s Maniacs, The Edwards Family (Von Trapps???), Driftmaze and The Dirty Russ Band.

Many come along to our nights and either perform as a band or join up with other muso’s for a set.

The bottom line is:“IT’S ALL FUN AND NOBODY MISSES OUT”

HOW MUCH DOES JAMMING COST?
Nothing. That’s right, absolutely nothing. Russ’s JAMM nights have no cover charge or enrolment fee, come and go as you please. What you spend at a particular venue is up to you.

WHO IS WELCOME?
Everybody of course. No matter what your genre, gender or age, Russ will accommodate. Solo artists, bands, juggling acts, whatever, come along and entertain us, don’t be shy. Oh yes, we love to see original artists by the way.

WHAT DO I NEED?
PA, Amps and drums (Thank you to Peninsula One Stop Music Shop for the drums) are supplied. If you don’t own a Guitar, Russ has Maton Acoustic and Electric Guitars at all gigs. So you’re pretty well covered in the general areas. Many People do bring their own however.

WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME?
Oh that’s easy, just come along and join in. All we ask is to be patient, as JAMM nights are very busy. We do encourage musicians to have their instruments tuned before going on stage. It helps things go along more smoothly.

SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
Get yourself to a JAMM night and discover a wonderful community spirit and friendliness which embodies the appreciation of music. There are many of us who live for these occasions.

COME ALONG AND JOIN THE FUN
