| St. Andrews Market | ||
This market is truly out of this world. The varieties of goods are unique and alternative, as are the retailers. The market is set in a tranquil bush setting and features homemade and home grown goods. You will find everything from beautiful crystals to hand knitted beanies and scarves. They serve up delicious lentil burgers and for a drink to warm up the senses, chai tea is a delight.

| St Andrews/Queenstown Historical Society | ||
St Andrews/Queenstown was surveyed in 1858 and proclaimed a town on 25th February 1861. Over the years, our town has experienced many different phases, one of which was the gold rush. St Andrews/Queenstown Historical Society was formed in 1998 after the 140th birthday celebration of the St Andrews Primary School. At this time the school produced a history book on the district named "St Andrews: A Village Built on Gold". A group of dedicated people in the community were inspired to start the Society, as we love the area and it's fascinating past. Our group operates under the auspices of the St Andrews Primary School Council, to whom we are very grateful. |
Every Monday, between 1.00pm and 3.00pm, the Society is open to the public and we encourage people to visit us. For a gold coin donation, people are welcome to use our microfiche readers (we currently own births, deaths and marriages fiche dated from 1836 to 1901) for their own family research**. Please feel free to ring if you would like to come and visit our group or if you would like to share any material on the St Andrews district. Furthermore, if anyone has any photographs or memorabilia on the St Andrews/Smiths Gully/Panton Hill areas they would like to share with us, please feel free to contact us. No matter how small or insignificant you may believe that information may be, we would love to hear from you. ** Members are entitled to use this service for free. |
